The International Office has been allocated a fixed contingent of rooms in houses 10 and 24 for foreign students taking part in the European ERASMUS, Lingua, Tempus etc. programs. The apartments in house 10 -Europahaus- were at first intended for exchange students but because it did not prove itself to be suitable to allocate only foreign students there a decision was made by the students for a 50/50 mix of German and foreign students. The apartments in house 12 are exclusively reserved for the Max-Planck Institute and the International Office, namely for guest professors and their families. In house 10 there are TV rooms as well as a language laboratory.
The Max Kade buildings are just 3 of the 22 student halls in the Seepark student quarter which houses about 1500. The Seepark student quarter is situated in the west of Freiburg. The city center and university are easily accessible by bicycle or streetcar (about 10 mins.). The leisure activities organized by the students' association (StuSie e.V.) are just as attractive as the lake location.
All rooms have a telephone, PC connection with Internet access and access to the satellite system for TV. There are shared kitchens, cycle storage, car parking facilities, washrooms, language laboratory, a function room with a stage, toddlers? room, music room, play area for kids, various teaching rooms with computer facilities.
