Foreign students attending the international study center or the state college and are being prepared for their studies in Germany live exclusively in the Max Kade house.
The close connection between living and learning (the state college is in the same building) is regarded very positively by the occupants. The seminar rooms and the library offer the opportunity to retire or to learn in groups.
Despite this the occupants are not isolated as there is a student community around the Max Kade house with about 1200 German and international students many of whom come from the United States.
The international Max Kade house, together with the high-rise student building "Im Neuenheimer Feld 133" form the international Max Kade accommodation and meeting center.
Wohnheim Max Kade:
The house is at the center point of the "Am Klausenpfad" student quarter with its 15 halls of residence (about 1200 students) on the natural sciences campus of the University of Heidelberg "Im Neuenheimer Feld". It is a 3 storey almost square, flat building.
International Max Kade house:
In the Neuenheimer Feld, in a parkland area near to the River Neckar, next to the halls of residence "Im Neuenheimer Feld 133". Together with the already existing high-rise building the new construction, consisting of three low buildings, they form a balanced unit with a quadrangle consisting of trees and grass serving as a meeting place.
Wohnheim Max Kade:
Internet connection, cable TV, furnished, 2 showers, 3 toilets, 4 joint kitchens shared by 10 persons, roofed over bicycle stands outside, washing and drying rooms, sufficient car parking, large green areas. The house is rented to the Studienkolleg der Universität Heidelberg. Only students from College for Foreign Students or College for German Language and Culture are accomdated in the Max Kade student hall.
International Max Kade house:
Internet connection, cable TV, separate bathroom /toilet in each accommodation unit, seminar room, in the halls next door: a music room, bar, balconies in all rooms, terraces on the ground floor, washing and drying rooms, a limited number of parking spaces, large grass areas
